Directors Stanley C. Baldwin, President Newsletter Editor
For many years Stanley C. Baldwin has maintained a strong interest in public service. At one point he considered running for public office. Because his writing was a priority, however, he never made time for political pursuits. For seven years as a free-lancer he majored in writing magazine-length true stories about people. Eventually he became editor of a real-life story paper called Power, where he served until he moved up to become editor of Victor Books. In the mid '70s he began writing his own books. Over the years since, he has written 21 published titles, four of them best-sellers with more than 300,000 copies each. One of those books (Love, Acceptance and Forgiveness, written with Jerry Cook) is now in 12 languages. His most recent book prior to the new one with SPCH was published in 2005 by InterVarsity Press and is entitled, A Funny Thing Happened on My Way to Old Age--Life Changes After 50. His new book published by SPCH is entitled A Funny Thing Happened on My Way to Save Civilization. It relates some of his funny experiences in learning to be a decent human being.
